Liv Devine

11:20am 5th Street Stage
Liv Devine, a 25-year-old country singer/songwriter/recording artist on Sunny Road Records. In an effort to meet the Herculean task of breaking into the competitive “Nashville Country Market”, Liv has aligned herself with track record entertainment industry veterans. She recorded her EP in Nashville at Blackbird Studios. Liv’s EP was produced by Grammy Award winning producer, Obie O’Brien (music producer and engineer of the Bon Jovi camp) along with Grammy Award winning songwriters.  You can hear Liv's Music on THUNDER 106, XTU-HD, and RENEGADE RADIO NASHVILLE!  You can also check out Liv's Music Video "Boots" which is featured on GAC's THE NASHVILLE NETWORK. She has performed with and opened for Country music artists including:
Wynonna Judd, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes, Scotty McCreery, Josh Turner,
Uncle Kracker, Joe Nichols, Love & Theft, David Nail to name a few.

Song Dogs

Featured in both the New York Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer with a sound often compared to Neil Young and the Allman B...rothers, Song Dogs is a 6-piece americana rock band bringing prairie-heavy rock and railroad tone to the city of Brotherly Love. Formed in 2009, Song Dogs released their first EP in 2011 and their debut full-length album Wild Country was officially released in January, 2013.   
Wild Country was produced by Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Sheep Dogs, Toy Soldiers, Grandchildren, Man Man, Lotus) at Waking Studios in Philadelphia. Song Dogs debut EP, Song Dogs and the Nightjar, was produced by Aurum Studios. Song Dogs is currently gigging in support of their 2015 self-produced LP Heartlands. 
Song Dogs was named 2013 WXPN Beta HiFi Wilmington champions and they have received glowing reviews from national and international publications including The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, WXPN's The Key,, The Watchtower, Here Comes The Flood, and The Music Court.

Swift Technique

Philadelphia's Premiere Funk & Soul Extravaganza
In the tradition of James Brown, with the balls of Led Zeppelin
Swift Technique, Philadelphia’s fiery funk extravaganza, enters 2016 after completing their most successful year to date. recently, the band has held several high profile support slots, including sharing the stage with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, The Motet, Fishbone, The Main Squeeze, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, JoJo Mayer, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Sophistafunk. While introducing the powerhouse lead vocal tandem of Chelsea ViaCava & Nik Greeley, the band released two new singles, “Dress Shoes” & “Jay’s the Name” to critical acclaim. 2015 saw the debut of Swift Technique’s “Ultimate Funk Throwdown: Prince Vs. Morris Day”, which will continue to be performed on select dates throughout the country. With a new EP release slated for Summer 2016, Swift Technique plans to debut a large portion of new material on March 5th at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia.

Johnny Popcorn

Johnny Popcorn is a Philadelphia based rock band with a lot of soul. Philadelphia’s Johnny Popcorn is a three piece rock band which features vocals from Hezekiah and Jani Coral.
Initially, Johnny Popcorn was founded by producer/bassist Tone Whitfield (Me’shell Ndegeocello and Zap Mama) and songwriter/emcee/producer Hezekiah (Rawkus Records) after several late night s working on R&B artist Bilal’s album. Their early works were pet studio projects released causally to music fans at live shows and digital downloads.
Hezekiah feeling stagnant in hip hop started to devote more time to Johnny Popcorn. Hezekiah started to recruit musicians to form a touring band which included guitarist Lloyd Alexander. The band solidified when Virginia native Jani Coral added her raspy like vocals to the band.
Now with an innovated sound and direction, Johnny Popcorn continues to ignite live shows and record emotional driven songs. Johnny Popcorn has opened for Bilal, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, RJD2, Robert Glasper Experiment, Oddisee, Ladi6, and Kindred & the Family Soul.
The Captain The Pilot The Driver

he Captain ~ The Pilot ~ The Driver is a concept project by Philadelphia native Paul Hocynec. The group represents a mission for one to challenge, achieve and ultimately accept the elements in which we deem the most important in life. Whether it be to understand the essence of who you are internally, without fear, hate, or judgement; or to embrace, hold, and carry the paralyzing, and yet captivating weight of being in love; or to bury the mind in retracing the course, to grasp and obtain the truth behind our own existence.
Encompassing folk,rock, blues, funk and a little bit of southern grit The Captain~The Pilot~The Driver bring a wave of energy and emotion to every live performance. At the base of the band are carefully written songs that act as the roots that hold together the overall story. Every song, lyric, and melody intertwines and guides the development of each character.

Kuf Knotz

Kuf Knotz is one of todays fastest emerging alternative artists. No musical territory goes unexplored when it comes to Kuf, ...and it is this attitude that has led him to open for top acts - Ms Lauryn Hill, Robert Glasper, THE ROOTS, The Wailers, Common, Robert Randolph, Arrested Development, RED BARAAT, Inspectah Deck, Amos Lee, Steel Pulse, ZAC DEPUTY, Josh Ritter, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Soulive & RISING APPALCHIA to name a few.
The new album by Philadelphia- and Brooklyn-based artist Kuf Knotz — pushes the boundaries of hip-hop.“My music’s always had a pretty broad spectrum as far as influences go,” he says. “It feels really natural to blend genres. I’ve always just felt that music is music.”
Inspired to take his own indie-progressive style to the next level, Kuf began work on a collection of upbeat, feel-good music. “I felt like it was important and it was needed in hip-hop,” Kuf says. Armed with his songs, he headed for Amsterdam. The change of scenery allowed him to focus on A Positive Light — his first album in more than three years — Kuf teamed with artists like Hanyo van Oosterom, who added live production (NL), Omar Ka, Ntjam Rosie & Tess Garthe' who added vocals & and Mark Gademan(NL) , who mixed the entire album.
Kuf volunteers his time for WXPN’s Musicians On Call program, bringing live music to the bedsides of patients through weekly programs at six area hospitals.

Footwerk. A Washington, D.C.-based 6-piece Pop outfit can only be described as a ‘blind date’ for first timers or a ‘booty c...all’ to an experienced audience member. Vocally led by a ‘friendzone’ power couple (Melisa & Kyle) on the frontline, the back line is an orgy musicians from diverse backgrounds named Teddi (keys) Eric (Percussion) Fern (Bass) Josh (Drums).
Crafting their sound by ‘Sleeping Around’ with Rock rhythms under soulful Rap and R&B vocals over dance beats with a splash of percussion. Footwerk's unique style of ‘No Strings Attached’ fan interaction made their ‘One Night Stand’ live shows popular in their hometwon DMV music scene.
Unbelievably, A chance craigslist ad led to the formation of the independent group. Due to their immediate success they’ve decided to release their debut album this year, aptly titled ‘Casual Encounters’ and go out on a national tour of ‘One Night Stands' in 2015. The Once Was

Hailing from Moorestown, New Jersey, The Once Was is an eclectic four-piece indie rock band descending from the creative zea...lot that is the home recording studio. Collaborating existential lyrical themes with progressive indie-pop rhythms, the band brings an energetic and surprising live show to audiences and enthusiasts alike. In March of 2009 the band released their debut full length album "Post War Parade." The band independently produced that album at Studio 4 in Philadelphia.
In 2010 the band took a mini-tour to CA, visiting L.A. and San Francisco. In San Francisco they recorded the single "Rusty James" which was later to be featured on the band's Rugged City EP. This collection of songs were based on the S.E. Hinton novel 'Rumblefish.' Shortly after the release of Rugged City, the band took a long 2-year hiatus.
After the hiatus they started off playing a few gigs here and there, playing at World Cafe Live (Phila), Bourbon & Branch, and playing regularly at Village Whiskey (AC) then the band decided that they wanted to go full speed ahead. As a result, they hit the drawing board and tapped into their inner transmissions. In November of 2014, they released their latest studio recordings entitled Without Wings (EP).
